The Pop Star Portrays a Dark Alter Ego of Her Own Identity in Mockumentary First Look

The celebrated musician is getting ready for a significant big screen appearance in 2026, starting with the mockumentary titled The Moment.

Within the project, she plays what she refers to as a dark version of her public image.

It’s the realest depiction of the music industry that I’ve ever witnessed, the performer stated.

She clarified in a conversation: It’s not a tour documentary, but the idea came from the pressure to create one.

A Glimpse into The Film

The initial preview, launched on recently, blends actual recordings from Charli’s Sweat tour with fictionalized behind-the-scenes moments.

The Moment is helmed and co-scripted by her collaborator, who revealed that the narrative revolves around a reality where the singer made entirely different choices during the marketing of her smash hit album Brat.

A Packed Acting Schedule

The mockumentary is a single one of several forthcoming film appearances for the musician, who has featured in three cinematic festival entries in the current year.

Additionally took on her own role in the humorous show Overcompensating.

Upcoming Projects

The following year will also see Charli alongside Olivia Wilde in erotic drama I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in art world thriller The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.

She also joined to feature in the star’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.

I am really enjoying my acting journey, the performer stated. I feel very, very inspired at the moment in this area, and I solely aim to pursue projects that excite me.

Next February will also see the launch of the filmmaker’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase new music from the artist.

Additionally, she will provide music for the film Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release next year.

The Moment will be released on 30 January.
