Unveiling a Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Piece of Feces on a Quest to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have encountered a variety of engaging indie games. But, one is particularly notable for its quirky concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled side-scrolling game features a hero that is truly a piece of poop trying to travel to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" means "poop."

Player controls is straightforward: you only need a one button to leap. Throughout numerous challenges, battle boss fights and access a store to acquire customizations for your poop character.

Time your actions carefully, since one wrong move forces restarting the level. Jump using air pockets to launch the poop upward, cross fragile surfaces, and interact with switches to unlock new areas. Earn coins and use them on tougher levels as the action intensifies.

Graphically, the experience shows off neon level designs and a killer music score. The retro visual style of shifting basic polygons may remind players of beloved games like Earthbound.

Even though tough to think of other games where you are a piece of feces, interactive entertainment often featured scatological themes. For instance, in Death Stranding, players craft grenades from protagonist droppings. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ feces as fertilizer. Unsurprisingly, fecal references is present extensively in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its goofy premise, Unko Technica has already garnered notable recognition, including being named best at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. This trial version is ready now on Steam, with the final release set to debut on Steam on November 19.
